The school is considering organising a talk for parents on a topic that will help them
understand and help their teenage children better.
As President of the Student Council, you have been tasked to find out what the concerns of the student body are. After a school-wide survey you identified two major concerns, which are listed below.
Bullying
· 35% of the students reported ever being victims of bullying.
· Bullying takes various forms some of which are hard to detect.
· Victims do not know how to handle
the situation.
· Become affected emotionally,
academically and socially.
· Bullies also need help to deal with
domineering streak.
Boy-Girl Relationship
· 25% of the students are in a boy-girl
relationship and another 20%
are thinking of entering one.
· About half of them are below
sixteen years of age.
· Those involved report conflicts
with parents who object to their
relationship.
· It is noted that the academic
progress of these students is
affected.
· They also tend to cut down on
socialization with the rest of the
classmates.
Select the concern, which you feel is more pressing, and submit a report of the findings and their implications to the teacher in charge of pupil welfare. Based on the survey findings, explain why you think the talk on that particular issue is urgent and necessary.
Set out your report correctly, in clear, accurate English, and use a formal, logical tone.
